Rooted in a deep respect for young people and families, shaped by the collective
In California, there are a few different legal options for homeschooling: establishing your own home-based private school, hiring a credentialed tutor, enrolling in a school district-based Independent Study Program, enrolling in an independent charter school, or joining a Private School Satellite Program.
While at our core, we are a community, Liberated Kids offers two different programmatic paths to families:
Private School Satellite Program (PSP) for Grades K-8.
If you join this program, your child would officially be enrolled at the Liberated Kids PSP. You would be your child's primary teacher, but Liberated Kids would hold all the documents that are required by the California Department of Education. Your child and family could also enroll in activities and classes in the Liberated Kids Homeschool Enrichment (separate enrollment form).
Enrollment Requirements :
Students may NOT be enrolled in another public or private school.
Family must complete an application for each child; and if the child is accepted, they must complete an enrollment form along with required documentation, which includes:
Document or statement that shows you are "capable of teaching". This can include a resume, a diploma, a degree, a reference letter, or a statement.
Immunization records (even if your child is not fully vaccinated, please send any records that you may have)
Copy of birth certificate or passport.
Any cumulative health records.
Information of your child's previous school(s)
Parents/caregivers meet with the Liberated Kids Director or representative when necessary.
Parents/caregivers submit any absences monthly.
Attend caregiver-child-teacher conferences at least once during the school year, and once at the end of the year.
Liberated Kids will...

Homeschool Enrichment
Based in the philosophy of self-directed education, this program is for all kinds of homeschoolers and hybrid learners (PSA, independent charter school, district-based, online schoolers, etc) looking to enhance their children's lives with socialization, enrichment activities and academic classes.
We enroll new families in August and January. The schedule of activities and classes is co-created by the children, families and facilitators based on their values, needs and interests. Here is an example of such a schedule.
Enrollment Requirements:
Each child must already be enrolled in a public or private school.
Each family must complete an application for each child; and if the child is accepted, they must complete an enrollment form, which includes the kids contract.
Each child shall be between the ages of 5-15. Please contact us for exceptions.
Liberated Kids will...
Hire background-checked facilitators to lead meetings, facilitate activities and classes, help mediate conflicts, provide supervision, maintain communication with families, etc.
Provide volunteer opportunities for parents/caregivers.
